The Catskill Conservation Corps, a partnership between the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, invites outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, to its free event: a Winter Hiking Primer & HikeSafe workshop scheduled for Friday, February 12th at Kenco located on Hurley Mountain Road in Kingston, NY from 6:30 to 8pm. The workshop will be led by Will Soter, Will is the Catskills Assistant Program Coordinator for the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference, and the Assistant Director of the Catskill Conservation Corps. Will is also a NY State Licensed Guide with experience guiding experience guiding winter trips in the Catskills and the Northeast.
This free, one-day workshop is a great opportunity to sharpen skills and learn how to prepare for a safe and enjoyable winter outing. The workshop is open to anyone interested in learning how to prepare for, and stay safe on a winter trip.
